0. Purpose of this Guide
------------------------------
I created this guide to help new players of Dance Dance Revolution
KONAMIX. It lists the different songs and their difficulties, tips
on becoming better, and more information to assist the new user.

1. How To Play DDR / Controls
-------------------------------
Dance Dance Revolution can be played in two ways. Playing the home version
of DDR, you can use the controller, as well as the pad. However, the songs
in the game were made for dancing to, and to fully enjoy the experience
you should use the dance pad, which is sold separately. Prices range from
$10-$50. You should try to choose a pad that matches you. Soft pads are
easier to transport, but can bend easily and can get scrunched up during
play. Metal pads don't move easily, but it's difficult to carry around.
Choose the pad that's best for you.

DDR involves stepping (or pressing) on arrows as they move past a flashing
bar on the screen. The game requires good coordination and rhythm. There
are different difficulties for each song, which are refered to as "feet".
The easiest songs are 1 foot, while the hardest are 9. During the
different versions of DDR, the rating system has changed a bit, but the
system in Konamix is simple.

Directional Arrows: Correspond to dance steps onscreen. Used
to make selections.
X Button: Confirm Selection, Left Diagonal Arrow in Solo Mode
O Button: Confirm Selection, Right Diagonal Arrow in Solo Mode
Select Button: Cancel
Start Button: Start Game
Select + Start Button: Resets game and returns to main menu.
*Triangle Button: no use
*Square Button: no use

*-some pads may not have these buttons.

-Controller

Directional Arrows: Correspond to dance steps onscreen. Used
to make selections.
Triangle Button: Up Arrow, Cancel Selection
O Button: Left Arrow, Confirm Selection
X Button: Down Arrow, Confirm Selection

Start Button: Start Game

2. Game Modes
------------------------------
There are 6 main modes in DDR Konamix. Here is a brief description of
each...
GAME MODE: The main mode in the game, can be for one or two players.
Press -> -> to access link mode, where you will find
preset groups of songs for you to try.
SOLO MODE: A mode meant for one person. Can use 4 or 6 arrows.
Press -> -> to access link mode.
WORKOUT MODE: A mode that keeps track of how many calories you burn
using your weight.
LESSON MODE: Teaches you the basics of DDR.
TRAINING MODE: Gives you many different song options so you can get
better at songs you have trouble on.
EDIT MODE: Lets you create custom steps to songs that can be saved.

Note: Some of these songs must be unlocked first by passing 5 songs in a
row. These songs are designated with a >. The name in the parentheses
is the artist of the song.
NOTE: Some songs do not have different steps for Solo Mode and instead use

5.1 Recommended Song Order

If you are a beginner to DDR, you should follow this list to get better at
each difficulty level. They are categorized by feet. For the best results,
you should start from the beginning of the list and continue on, until you
have mastered all the songs. Some may be harder than others, so if you're
having a hard time, try another and go back.
NOTE: All difficulty levels correspond to 4-panel Single Mode.

5.2 General Tips
----------
- _PRACTICE_. If you don't you'll never get better.
- Position yourself to perform complex step strings.
- You don't need to face the screen the entire time. Memorize steps so
you can go different directions.
- Use Little (a difficulty modifier) to simplify the steps of songs.
- You don't need to return your foot to the center of the pad each
time. Feel free to move around the pad.
- Use Edit Mode to make new steps to songs if you are having trouble.
